Katye

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Katye (“we,” “us,” “the app”) is operated by Contingency Entertainment. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it short on purpose.

The short version

What we collect

Account & profile. When you sign in, we store your email address (or the identifier from Google / Apple Sign In), your display name, your chosen team, and your gameplay record (streaks, points, puzzle attempts, votes). This is what makes the leaderboard and your streak work.

Sign-in. Authentication is handled by Supabase using a magic link (email) or OAuth with Google or Apple. We receive a basic identifier from these providers — we do not get your password.

Device & usage. Standard technical data (app version, device type, general region) to keep the app stable and secure.

Notifications (optional). If you opt in to push notifications, OneSignal stores a push subscription ID so we can send you a reminder when the day’s challenges drop. You can turn this off any time in your device settings.

Advertising

The mobile app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use a mobile advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. On iOS, we ask for your permission (App Tracking Transparency) before any tracking — if you decline, you’ll still see ads, just less personalized. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.

We do not run ads that sell or share your personal account data with advertisers.

Who we share data with (service providers)

ProviderPurpose
SupabaseAuthentication, database, hosting of your account & game data
Google (AdMob)Serving and measuring ads in the mobile app
Google / AppleOAuth sign-in (only if you choose it)
OneSignalPush notifications (only if you opt in)

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We do not sell personal information to anyone.

Children

Katye is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Your choices

Deleting your account and data

When you delete your account through the in-app flow or by emailing us, we permanently remove the following from our servers:

What we keep, and why:

Apple Sign In and Google OAuth:if you signed in using “Continue with Apple” or “Continue with Google,” deleting your Katye account removes our copy of your data, but does notrevoke the connection on Apple’s or Google’s side. To remove that authorization, go to Apple ID Settings → Sign in with Apple → Katye or Google Account → Security → Third-party apps with account access.

In-app deletion is immediate and irreversible. Email-based requests are processed within 30 days. Once deleted, accounts and gameplay history cannot be restored — even if you sign up again with the same email, the new account starts from zero.

Data retention (general)

We keep account and gameplay data while your account is active. The “Deleting your account and data” section above describes what happens when you delete.

Changes

We’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date when this policy changes.
